Scope and Contents
Collection contains personal correspondence, notebooks, high school yearbooks, drawings (pencil, watercolor, and oil), a painting, bird sculptures, artifacts, newspaper clippings, Japanese publications and documents related to immigration (1923) and internment (1942-1945). Highlights of this collection include Tamura Hotel (San Francisco) resident and service ledgers dating from 1918 to 1936, Topaz High School yearbooks, and drawings of Topaz Relocation Camp by Shizue Tamura Okubo.

Box top: Nihon seki jyujisja tokubetsu sha-in sho; Translates to: Japan Red Cross Organization Special Staff Decoration; Box bottom: Made by Kobayashi Lacquer Store, Tokyo; Coin-shaped medal suspended from red and grey fabric; Cross motif and phoenix present on front; Back of medal reads: Nihon seki jyuji sha or “issued in the 21st year of Showa” which means 1946; the Empress is usually the honorary chairperson of the Red Cross
