Biographical / Historical
Shigeo Ito was one of five people who formed the Bonsai Society at the Chicago Botanic Gardens in 1990. The Bonsai Society brought the Nakamura donation of prized bonsai collection to the Chicago Botanic Garden. He also was volunteer/consultant at the Chicago Botanic Gardens giving demonstrations on bonsai to public schools and exhibited at the Ginza Cultural Festival at MBT. He voluntarily maintained the Japanese Garden at Hiewa Terrace for over 33 years.
