Collection contains English and Japanese language DVDs and promotional material for a video created about the life of Chieko Onoda, a 1947 graduate of the Cook County School of Nursing (2010-2011). The video was written, directed and produced by Todd Hissong and Rieko Kishi Fukuzawa.

Biographical / Historical

Chieko Onoda was a 1947 graduate of the Cook County School of Nursing. She went on to become a school nurse in Indiana and, in 1972, obtained an advanced degree so that she could become a pediatric nurse practitioner. The UIC College of Nursing created an endowed scholarship in order to honor her contributions to the field of nursing. Onoda was a longtime board member of the Japanese American Service Committee (JASC) as well.
