Biographical / Historical
Tomonao Iino (1911-2002) was born in Chichibu, Saitama, Japan. He immigrated to the United States around 1938 and was interned at Heart Mountain in 1942 shortly after World War II began. According to a note in his Alien Registration booklet, Iino was “paroled” from internment camp on May 16, 1944, however, a War Relocation Card indicates that he was back at Heart Mountain in 1945. It appears that Iino went to Japan sometime after World War II concluded and returned to the U.S. on December 28, 1953, where he remained for the rest of his life. Accession file is unavailable.
